Buttercup Pantry in Placerville

I love the Buttercup, all the food is like home style. I have had breakfast, lunch and dinner there and all was very good. The service is great and prices are good. This place is very poular on the weekends when the tourists show up. If you live in Placerville or are just visiting this a must stop.

Is there anything bad about this place?! I don’t think so! Breakfast served til 4p, and they do it ALL so well! Biscuits and gravy platter with two eggs any style is a family favorite, as are most of their omelettes and waffle meals.Have tried a few of their sandwiches (chicken avocado cheddar and bacon) too, and all have been solid. The staff is always helpful and friendly and available.Pies (to go) can be hit or miss though. Apple was great, and I know they say homemade, but the blackberry tasted overly jellified/ gelatinous the last time we tried one. Oh well, we will stick to everything else!

Nice place, relaxed ambience, excellent service and delicious food and you need not to forget their mouthwatering pies.

Fantastic food and service! Wonderful ambiance and fun atmosphere with the vintage and antique items. Only issue was the bad smell coming from the fly traps. Other than that, great!

LOVE LOVE LOVE this place!!!Forgot to take pics. Hubby had their famous chicken fried steak(it's HUGE, enough for 2). I had the French dip sandwich. One of, if not the best I've ever had. They roast the beef and shave the pieces themselves.

The restaurant was very welcoming, everybody was very nice and the food was very delicious. Hands down the triple decker club stole my tastes buds heart along with the hot sauce for my wings which burned them. All around it is very great place to bring your family and friends would recommend to anybody!

Good old country feel. I love the variety. A spot to return to again. Friendly staff and very nice all around.

Great food and service as always. Some patio seating available. Following current COVID guidelines carefully, as were the customers. Always a pleasure to meet and eat there. Brought home some frashly baked peach strudel 😊.

Stellar service with nice vintage interior decoration and great food. Enjoyed my time here and the fresh well prepared meal. The French toast was soft crispy and flavorful.

Excellent food I had their signature chicken fried steak and apple pie. It was delicious. Better, was the service by a waitress named Sara. She was helpful, fast, attentive and inderstanding of our 1yr old who was enamored with her.

I wish I would have taken pictures of the food. It was amazing! We were a large group and Hannah was on top of our order. She was extremely friendly and sweet. We got our food in a timely manner. I ordered the French Toast and added bananas which tasted amazing. Everyone in our group loved their food. We’ll come back soon. 😀

Cozy interior. Really nice all you can eat soup and salad bar combo. Good food. Good location. Only reason four starts instead of five is because we experienced some kitchen (or ordering?) mix-ups.Little one asked for cheeseburger ...came with no cheese. Server brought us some, tho. So that was fine. But then my Western BBQ burger arrived with no BBQ sauce and no onion ring. So that seemed silly but I didn't bother asking for it to be fixed. We already had bothered for the cheese. Older son loved the salad bar. I'd go again. Everyone makes little mistakes sometimes. The pies looked good, would try those next time!

Really an awesome place. Clearly work lots of history. You will be transported 100 years in the past with all the artifacts lining the walls. Did is really delicious and staff really friendly. We have just found ourselves a new favorite place between the Bay Area and South Lake Tahoe

Love Buttercup! Always a good experience, good food, good service. They saved the day today. Had reservations at Enchanted Forrest but there was no air conditioning (screaming hot inside the place) and definitely not kid/family friendly. It was a special occasion for my daughters birthday (adult daughter) and we had been planning the event for two weeks... Long story, but we left and went to Buttercup instead. Had a nice cool relaxing yummy dinner. Thank you Buttercup Pantry. We love you and will definitely be back again soon. 💝

Always the best service, great food. A definite stop on the way to Tahoe. The Hangtown Fry done the original recipe.😋 Love that they took care of their people during the pandemic. Thank you Buttercup ❤️

Cute breakfast place we found on our way to Tahoe. So glad we stopped by. They have great food and stellar services. Their Apple Strudel is a must try, they won't disappoint! Definitely will go back again.
